About Zodiacs Glow

Astrology you can check the working on

Most astrology sites hand you a label and stop. We try to do the opposite. Our calculators work from the actual positions of the Sun, Moon and planets, so a birthday on the edge of two signs gets the right answer instead of a guess. Our guides then explain what each placement is traditionally said to mean, and keep "this is calculated" clearly apart from "this is interpretation."

Astrology is a symbolic language, not a science, and it cannot predict your future or replace advice from a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser. Used as a way to reflect on temperament, relationships and timing, it is a rich and rewarding subject, and that is the spirit of everything on this site.

More about how we work

Questions people ask first

Is Zodiacs Glow free to use?

Yes. Every calculator, guide and quiz on the site is free, with no account and no sign-up. The site is supported by advertising, and ads never influence what we publish.

Do you store my birth date, time or place?

No. The calculators run inside your browser, so what you type is used to produce your result on your own device and is never sent to our servers or saved. Closing the page forgets it.

How accurate is the birth chart calculator?

Planet positions come from standard orbital formulas and are accurate to a small fraction of a degree, which is far finer than the thirty-degree width of a sign. The rising sign and houses depend on your exact birth time and place, so they are only as good as those two inputs. The chart is built for reading, not for arc-second rectification work.

Why does a different site give me a different Sun sign?

Sign boundaries are not fixed calendar dates. They move by up to a day from year to year, because the Sun's crossing of each boundary does not line up neatly with our calendar. Sites that use a fixed table can be wrong for people born near a boundary. We compute the Sun's actual position for your birth year instead.

Does astrology predict the future?

Not in any reliable sense, and we do not claim it does. Astrology is a symbolic tradition for thinking about temperament and timing, not a science and not a forecasting method. We treat it as a language for reflection and mark clearly what is calculated and what is interpreted.

What do I need to get a full birth chart?

Your date, your time and your town of birth. Without a time you can still learn a great deal, including your Sun sign, most planet signs and often your Moon sign, but the rising sign and houses need the time. If you are unsure of it, a birth certificate or hospital record usually has it.

Where should a beginner start?

Build your birth chart first so you have your own placements in front of you, then read the Learn section for the signs, planets and houses that show up in it. The Astrology Guides go deeper once you want the reasoning behind the labels.
